Kimber Talk and the LGS have conspired against me!

I saw an EVO at my LGS several months ago. Liked it a lot, but thought the price was too high. And I didn't really need anything in that category anyway.

Fast forward a few months, been some EVO talk here on KT that kept my interest. Then my Kahr CW9 which had been awesome for years goes and gets fussy for about 9 months straight, despite all new springs.

Still never minding that, I had dropped my Pro Carry off at the LGS for a night sight install and went in to pick it up. Innocently minding my own darn business, I looked over and the EVO TLE (the only one he has ever had as far as I know) had big bright red writing on the tag. Uh-oh. Marked down to $699 bucks from $859. I stare. I stared some more. So I ask, is that price with or without the Kimber $100 rebate? Without he says, now I know I am in trouble. Handled it for a long time, then couldn't stand it. So now I have two Kimbers.

Pretty happy with $599 net cost on it. Here it is. No range time yet of course. Man I need a new phone the pics are awful, sorry.

Next week for sure it'll make it to the range. I need it in my carry rotation so I don't plan to dawdle.

There are a lot of little details on this gun that show an awful lot of thought on Kimber's part. It also feels great in the hand, and just like a 1911 when I bring it up I am already looking right down the sights. Nice.

I have already noticed the feed ramp on the EVO is rather different than a lot of competitors. It is staggered a bit, kind of like a 1911 without a ramped barrel, and the angle on it seems to be more sloped than the steep wall my Kahr and many others have. I hand cycled a couple magazines and the rounds seemed to slick in there with less resistance than some of my other guns.

The trigger is amazing, it was the trigger and the alloy frame that I felt justified the extra 100 bucks over the P365 my buddy wanted me to buy (he has one and loves it). I am told the P365 trigger is supposed to be a good one, but the EVO's trigger blew it out of the water IMO.

Oh for anyone looking for an EVO holster, the guy at the LGS suggested trying a Shield holster. He must have messed with it before, he was right the Shield holster fit great.
