kinda sad and angry...

I realize I'm a fairly new guy here and have less than 1,000 posts, and that you long-term members have a history of fun and serious talk and frank, sometimes argumentative conversations. I like being part of that. I moved to NC 15 years ago from MD. I understand how bad it could be to live in a state I can't visit safely. My extended family is still there.

Right now though, while we gun owners are confronted with some really serious threats, there have been a series of posts that hijack intelligent discussions, and spend countless pages quoting crazy rantings and using political language that raise the odds of KT (and its members) being identified by the oversight folks (which happens) as a site that harbors dangerous people who own lots of guns...not by just the whacked out extreme left wing of our country, or the media, but by concerned, legitimate law enforcement agencies which are under a lot of pressure to enforce the existing laws.

Some of the ranting paranoid, racist, nazi-esque BS needs to be banned and/or deleted. I'm capable of ignoring it (which someone is sure to tell me to do), except when it starts to pop up in the middle of intelligent discussions about laws that might need to be defeated politically. Spewing crazy crap on a forum isn't going to accomplish that.

Here's a link to help you identify and write your legislators to just plain tell them your opinion about who you will and won't vote for based on their support of laws that infringe on our 2A rights.

Tell them! They want to get re-elected and will listen if enough of us make it plain to them. Most of all VOTE, every chance you get!

Sorry for the rant, I'm worried.

Thanks...I almost deleted after I wrote, because I know in our hearts we all know what's right, and I generally try to piss people off when I can see them (and know when to draw or put my hands in front of my face).

This, though, is important. Our next President can NOT be a liberal gun-grabber, nor can we afford to lose the edge we have in the Senate. The House needs to go back toward the right....doesn't need to be all Republicans, but every member needs to understand that the vast (99.9999%) of legal gun owners are normal people who hurt no one and actually stand ready to help law enforcement.

Crazy talk brings crazy reactions. We have enough of that going on now in DC.

I spent 30 years working in the government mostly with veteran causes. Take my word that elected representatives are very sensitive to the fact that they can say or do something that will cost them their next election. Let them know what you think! Make some noise in that direction...they even log and tally phone call opinions expressed by calling their offices unless you sound crazy.

Chuck, dear sweet Chuck, and Arland and Gary and the other lovely folks here who have been my internet-friends (and a couple of you, my gun-range-friends). After writing the below, I'm going away for a while. I'll be back some day; pray to God no one here suffers a loss from their blindness about reality; I can no longer take blunting my vision to keep some of you others happy. Just remember: yeah, the alligators may eat you crawlers last, but they will STILL EAT YOU! You're not saving anyone or anything. TRY to remember: cold. dead. hands.

{sigh} Do you REALLY think "playing nice" (or speaking "nice" -- i.e. lying!) is going to get us anywhere -- when the whole damned deck is stacked against us?

Anyone with experience in biz mgmt will know the old saying: 90% of solving a problem requires CORRECTLY identifying the problem! As long as everyone keeps ducking and dodging and refusing to *accurately* name the problem, then "solving the wrong problem" will continue at a huge cost in blood and treasure! Saecula saeculorum.

Are you willing to keep lying and protecting lies in order to be thought of as a nice person, and "not a racist"?! Will you keep lying and accepting lies right up until this country is completely ended? (Do you not realize they will call you a racist no matter what you say or do say?)

Yeah, I'm ranting... I can't imagine how ANY of you can start groveling about ... "maybe we can accept just a FEW more restrictions of our GOD-GIVEN RIGHT TO SELF-DEFENSE!!! If we let them have THIS restriction, they'll finally stop." Just like they did after every OTHER of a 100 times!? NO, they will NEVER stop! They want you and yours DEAD! How many 100s of millions have the damned commies killed and killed and killed through history? And yet still, yet again.... you'll submit to "just this one (MORE!) common sense restriction ... just don't call me a bad word!"

The Mass Killing You Heard Nothing About
Posted at 11:00 am on August 8, 2019 by Tom Knighton
Mass killings are the news these days. After Gilroy, followed soon after by El Paso and Dayton, itís hard not to understand why mass killings are such big news. Someone killing a number of folks is definitely newsworthy.

Then why was there a mass killing on Wednesday that most of us heard nothing about, nothing at all?

Well, you see, itís because the killer used a knife.

A 33-year-old Garden Grove man has been arrested in a violent stabbing and robbery spree that started in Garden Grove and ended at a 7-Eleven in Santa Ana Wednesday evening, leaving four people dead and two more critically wounded.

The entire incident began a little after 4 p.m. and ended at around 6:30 p.m. Cameras captured footage of the suspect being apprehended by police.

Two men were stabbed to death at a Garden Grove apartment complex, a man was stabbed and killed at a Subway restaurant in Santa Ana and a security guard was stabbed and killed at a 7-Eleven in Santa Ana. A woman who was stabbed at a Garden Grove insurance business and a man who was stabbed and nearly had his nose severed off while he was pumping gas at a Chevron station survived, but are both in critical condition.

The suspect was likely armed with a gun and a large knife during the spree, police said. He appeared to have picked his victims at random.
Four people are dead, two others injured during the rampage.

There are questions of course. Most noticeably was why didnít he use the gun he was carrying? Anti-gun proponents would argue that if he had, he could have killed even more. That may well be true. Then again, if he had car keys as well, he could have used that to kill still more.

What does this mean, though?

Simple. It means that evil is going to do what evil is going to do. No restriction on weapons will curb mass attacks. The evil that walks among us has way too many options to inflict violence upon us with. They can build explosives using everyday items if they know how. They can drive over us with their cars or vans. They can stab us. All of those are things that can be obtained without a background check, for the record.

Guns are not the problem. They never have been.

The problem is that thereís something flawed in our society that we need to figure out and fix. People are losing their minds and killing others, and for what? No one has ever changed their opinion following a mass killing so that it mirrors the killers. Itís just not something that happens and it never will be.

Yet what will happen is anti-gunners and their friends in the media will refuse to report an incident like this, something so ferocious and violent that it should chill the blood, simply because he didnít use a gun.

On the flip side, if one of these people had been lawfully armed, the story would read quite differently, but alas, they were in California, and thus little more than sheep to the slaughter.

I only have one thing to say. Itís an agenda, always has been. Socialism (Communism) can not be fully implemented with Armed Citizens. End goal has been let out of the bag by many a Democrat of recent far left demeanor. Australia style, England Style whatever. Bottom line is weíve given up too much already and the left will not be satisfied until you are totally dependent on government and canít defend any other choice (Disarmed). Then if you donít follow the rules youíll have what every socialist country in history had, mass murder of non conformers. Thatís all I have to say and history backs every word I typed. I just hope all of us stand up for our constitutional rights before they are gone forever, and that gets closer everyday.

Well... I guess that's that.

The only thing I would care to add is that I believe Admin could have nipped this in the bud privately (it's called moderating) a long long time ago instead of letting stand endless racist, nazi-esque BS disruptive content that serves to degrade an otherwise great forum until the membership gets so sick of it they feel compelled to call it out publicly.

A lot of the blame for that falls on me, we have another moderator and a great administrator but they're not always available. My 100 YO mother had a heart attack a couple of months ago followed by a stroke and a second heart attack. I'm not making excuses but I spend most of the day attending to her and assisting her care takers. I try to maintain a presence here but with the limited time I have I can only skim the threads. As things get better with her I'll be able to pay more attention to what's going on here. I apologize for my lack of detailed attention, I'll try to do better.

With all due respect Chuck your plate has been full for a few months now and this wasn't your fault at all. We're all grown ass men and women here on KT and should be able to moderate ourselves right ??
