Tactical Pro ll range report and photos

During my introduction Lineman73 wanted a range report and photos so here goes...
Put 100 rounds through it, 50 Federal American Eagle 115 gr and 50 Speer Lawman 124 gr on my first outing. Only two FFE and one was with full mag and one chambered which did not surprise me. A little more muzzle flip than my Sig SME 9MM 5" (by the way the sweetest gun I have ever fired) due to less front end weight. Other than that everything ran as it should. I really like the mag well, it gives a little extension on the grip. Meprolight night sights are okay. I normally shoot outdoors and was indoors on this trip so they are kind of dim. I will eventually change out to Dawson Precision fiber optic front as this is a range gun and not a carry gun and my old eyes love fiber optic. Before I ordered the gun I knew it had a flat grey frame and was concerned about how it would look but from the photos you can see there is very little color variation from the slide. So far I am very pleased. Here are a couple of pics..

Fine looking range pistol, thanks for the report. I have a Sapphire Pro in 9mm and it is a sweet shooter.

As another Tactical Pro owner, I say congrats. I must also say that while it certainly is a fine pistol at the range, I'd hardly classify it as a "range pistol".

I think for the money the Tactical series is the most feature rich gun Kimber makes. I've got an Ultra Tactical high on my list for my next Kimber.

I put "Dawson Precision" fiber optic sights on one of my H&Ks (also a range weapon). Those sights made all the difference. With the thin front sight you will need to take that extra second to ensure the front blade is dead center of the rear, of course this means a much tighter grouping. After a number of times at the range it all becomes natural. Love those sights. I just purchased a Smith & Wesson MP22 for dinging at the range. I purchased one other type of sights that do not compare to the Dawson Precision. Guessing I will order a set for this weapon also.

An Ultra? Chuck you know those 3 inch barrel pistols won't function and you can't hit the broad side of a barn with one!
