Bone, Antler, Ivory Grips?

If you're a fan of exotic handgun grips or knife scales, knowing how to properly care for them is important to avoid warping or worse, cracking.

Most of my handguns wear G10 or walnut grips, but many here are enamored with the exotics for good reason, they look good!

I post this as today I read an article in the current issue of "American Handgunner" that addresses the issue of care for these exotic grips. Some good information there that members here that have these grips or knife scales may find interesting, and possibly save their expensive purchase from harm.

It's a fairly short read, but very informative.

This issue also has a feature article on the Kimber EVO SP and gives the little pistol high marks.

Rick, I'm glad you posted this, as I went through this same procedure looking for good, useable and secure textures for my hand.

Now, this may sound odd, but my latest knife has rubber grips. Knife and gun manufacturers should have offered this feature right out of the box years ago. A "tool" should be useful, and beauty is as beauty does.

I let my wife fondle my new folder, and it's a good thing I ordered two!
