Charge or returning guns to the Manufacture.

Well, went by m one of my LGSs today to make a purchase (PPK/S). I was informed that effective Jan 1 2020, ALL guns returned and received to the manufacture, dealer, etc. MUST BE OVERNIGHT AT a charge of $65.00. I asked what about guns being returned for warranty repairs or Manufacturer Recall? Reply: 65.00 each way. Anyone else heard about this? BTW, he tried to sell me an "Insurance Plan" to cover the first years return for $39.00. I DECLINED that service.

Did they say if this was state-wide or some kind of new Federal rip-off? Either way, it's just more BS for us to deal with. Hope it's just your local LGS (sorry).

Ahhh... the old "extended warranty" ruse.

I'd think just about any manufacturer would send you a return shipping label for warranty issues, especially during the first year. With that being the case, I'm curious what your Gun Counter Salesperson is doing with your thirty-nine bucks (besides laughing all the way to the bank).

Sounds like a policy of the shop. If they ship something it will be a flat fee and overnight. I wouldn't have a problem stopping by UPS or FED EX if need be personally. Hopefully the new Walther will break in nicely and it'll be a non issue. Good luck with the new shooter :-)

My LGS has a sign up stating they won't ship guns for you at all. Totally opposite approach.

After you purchased a gun the warranty is between you and the manufacturer not the store you made the purchase. Anytime I had a gun issue I went directly to the manufacturer and they sent a shipping label for free.

I've returned weapons to Kimber and S&W; both sent shipping paid labels. Kimber was the friendliest, the shipper stopped by my house to pickup.
