Would you do this trade even up?

I have a never fired Kimber Ultra TLE II (LG) 3" barrel, bought in 2010 its in the classifieds here.
Trade even for a Kimber Stainless TEN II. 5" Barrel 14cap mag. 2nd owner has it not shot much, looks (in pics) to be in nice shape.

Some questions for the all knowing here, lol

1) What do you think the BP 10 is worth outright (he is asking 1,200.00 which is real high IMO. In other words if you wanted it whats a fair price you would offer for it.

2) I know they are 2 different pistols but I like the BP10 because its a odd Kimber not made anymore.

3) What do you think I can realistically get for my Kimber in todays market? I have not had a real offer on it yet but one guy wanted to trade me a giant grizzle bear rug,lol

Let me know what you guys think, I value your opinions and know the final decision is up to me.

Your TLE is a bit nicer gun, but readily available. The poly Kimbers don't grow on trees but can be found and go used for 6-700 from what I have seen on Gunbroker.

I think it's close to an even trade IF you want the gun bad enough. Selling either outright your TLE has a slight edge in my book. His 1200 is crazy. JMO.

Let us know how it turns out. Kinda thinking a poly double stack Kimber is cool myself.

Depends on your intended use for the Kimber TEN?
Answers:
1. $750
2. Two does not really contain a question but the Ten, some would say a design before it's time, i.e. plastic pistols not received well for the time.
3. Your TLE? Sadly you'll be lucky to get $700 out of it. Market is down, way down. Two years ago you could have sold your TLE for $1,000 easy.

Other points that may be of interest to you IMO: I think problems were experienced with the external extractor on the TEN. If it breaks or needs replacing I don't know of a source for parts.

They have been discontinued for a pretty long time, no parts or any help available from Kimber.

Not sure if there is a source for the TEN 14 round magazines.

If it's just for fun/to play with at the range...
If I really wanted/ had to have the Kimber TEN, my max dollar would be $800.

I looked a week or two ago and found about 5 for sale on GunBroker, different prices.

MecGar still lists the 14 round mags for the Kimber 10 on their website and they are available for direct purchase.

I did not think of the external extractor. My understanding is Kimber finally got them to work, but it was too late before they figured it out, the damage was done. I have no idea where the poly Kimbers fall into that time line.

Do Sig or Smith external extractors work on the Kimber?

Do Sig or Smith external extractors work on the Kimber?

Kind of surprised about the magazines being available? I'm not 100% certain but I think the Kimber external extractors are different from Sig or Smith?
Seems sometime last year a newbie was needing EE Kimber parts and all I could find was a view of the parts.

Well Tinman got me thinking and I did not make the trade. Magazines are available but I think what had me cautious was the external extractor. I have seen some vids and u-tube reviews and nothing seemed to be a problem but I think that would be in the back of my mind.
As far as price the same guns that have been sold (5" barrel 14rnd. mag BP10 II stainless have been~800.00 so that was not a problem.
I think in the end it was trading a NOS gun for his....
The owner was in state a couple hours away so if I change my mind and he still has it I can make the deal......
