Kimber Oregon model 84 help

Hi. New guy from North Dakota. I’m hoping somebody can help me date my model 84. It’s a kimber of Oregon Clackamas model 84 in .222. The serial number is TD 14xx. It is the classic I believe. It has the ebony formed tip. Any help is appreciated. Just looking for any history and approximate date of production. Thanks.

Welcome to the site from Tennessee.

Have you tried calling Kimber customer service? Give them the serial number they may not have any info but won't know unless you ask. Also the forum 1911Forum has some sticky threads you can read and ask over there to.
Beautiful wood on that rifle. I was under the impression the Ebony on the end of the forearm indicated it was a "SuperAmerica" model. But I've been wrong before.
This pic may not help?
Mine in 308 is a Longmaster Classic, it does not have the Ebony.

Maybe Rick will know more?

Now I see that chart is for 82.

According to my records, this model 84C Super America first appeared in the Gun Digest in the 1997 edition. The ebony forend tip is the tip-off as Arland mentioned. With that low s/n, it's probably an early model of the 84C.

It listed new for $1,595, the standard 84C went for $1,145 in 1997.

Thanks guys. From what I can tell it is a Cusrom Classic and should be 1986 - ish. It was introduced in 1984 but this one has a round receiver and an older “rocker” style safety instead of the more recent model 70 type safety which I think came after 1987. This should make this rifle pre 1987. Does this sound correct? Anybody have any ideas?
