Trying to figure out any info I can on this firearm. I mentioned in the introduction thread that I inherited a Kimber compact aluminum stainless .45 ACP from my father in law. Any search I do on the interwebs turn up nothing. Seems to be a stock gun except for crimson trace grips.

From what I can find, they were produced in the early 90’s. They were a series 1, no firing pin block. The original design had a plastic trigger and eventually they went to the 3 hole aluminum trigger. If you do a search you will find some information. They say if it is in 90%+ condition they are worth between $500-$600 (value was from an old article).

That's a model I've never seen or heard of before. I would guess the Crimson Trace grips are not original either along with what JC said.

Kimber customer service may be able to tell you a manufactured date if you call and provide them the serial number. Maybe?

Looks like a good conceal carry piece to me!

So I ended up calling Kimber customer service. Basically told me the model of gun it is, which I knew since it is stamped on the slide. All they were really able to tell me is production date of 12-22-99. They guy was nice, told me to check GunBroker to see if there are any like models, maybe that would give me some more info.

I have one these too. Came with Crimson Trace grips, original grips, factory box and paperwork. You don't see too many around. I've had it for about a week. Not a Kimber fan, but what information I have found shows value much higher than the$500-600 someone posted earlier.

I've been hunting for a compact aluminum (black or stainless) at the right price. There's a perpetual $600 example on gunbroker...black, in pretty good shape. It's probably been there for six months.
