Anyone Notice Ammo Shortages?

I notice that Freedom Munitions (which I like due to their low prices) are completely out of ALL .380 & 9mm. They only have two different 45 acp, but it's the more expensive variety.

I really don't need ammo, but I got an email from Freedom Munitions saying that they're running behind trying to fill and ship out orders. So I checked them and was shocked to see shortages.

If you are one of these panic buyers, I'm curious. What thought process resulted in your changing your buying patterns?

I'm pretty stocked in all the usual calibers, a little light in practice ammo. For right now it's not an issue. Finding a place to shoot (and not pay exorbitant range fees) is getting harder to find around the Madison area. The places we used to go to are now private membership clubs.

I would like to do some more practice with my .380 pistol. That's the one I'll carry because it's pretty flat.

I think the question is, “has anyone not noticed the ammo shortage?”.

TP, Ramen noodles and Ammo.... must have stuff when people think the end is near.

Anyone would have to have had there head in the sand to not notice TP, food, ammo shortages and rushed buying of guns.
For the last 2 or 3 years (since the bankruptcy notice) and even before bankruptcy notice came out Freedom Munitions has NOT been fully stocked. I love there reload ammo, 45, 9mm but have been forced to buy from other stores and online locations due to reloads being out of stock and only having the premium new ammo available.

Freedom and several other places was out of stock BEFORE the stay home order was given. I was just going to order a few rounds of some calibers I was out of or have a small amount on hand. I decided not to place and order cause to get everything on my list I would had to have ordered from 3 different sources.

SGAmmo is a huge ammo seller.

On their website from last week:

Due to overwhelming order volume that came in March 13th to 16th we are not currently accepting new orders and all product listings are offline. We should have all existing orders filled by Wednesday the 25th. We will begin to restore limited inventory options once we have shipped all orders that have been placed so far. Our warehouse crew is working as hard as possible to ship these orders ASAP. In order to aid us in providing faster service, please do not email to ask when your order will ship unless you need to cancel or change the address. UPS will email tracking info the day the order ships and we are working as fast as we possibly can to fill your orders. We have inventory allocated to fill all existing orders, if you have an order in it will be filled.

We're here hunkered down... waiting for the all-clear sign. Not sure it will be any time soon.

I had an email from Bud's mentioning they were too busy to field phone orders of any sort the other day. I believe online was still an option? If you believe you need some ammo I'd suggest getting it ASAP if you can.
Sadly I'm expecting things will be worse and last longer than initially projected. Chances are the long term effects of this bug may also wind up being something tangible to??? If NY is an example of what the rest of the country can expect "you're gonna need a bigger boat" from Jaws comes to mind as a quote that puts it all in perspective. I'm thinking 4-6 more weeks until enough data is in and the scope of this all can be estimated.
