Sig question... sorry

Looking hard at this. Any comments, thoughts from the Brain Trust?

Yes I do know it's not a Kimber. I have 2 of those I am very happy with. Always wanted a Sig 1911 to expand my modest collection. It will get shot. The only gun gathering dust in my safe is an ill-advised purchase of a Smith SD9.... junk.....

Thanks!

My son is the LE rep for SIG here in the west, and when he was here last I had the opportunity to shoot one of their 1911's.

Typical SIG quality throughout...well made, high quality components, metallurgy, sights, trigger...nothing to NOT like.

If I didn't have so many 1911's now, a SIG would join my P938 in the safe in short order.

This is off topic, but maybe you and your son can help. I知 in the southeast and I have not contacted the LE rep in my area yet.

I was curious how that works. Do we buy directly from the rep? (Yes I知 LEO)

SIG makes fine products so you're almost certain of getting good value for your dollar. You are pretty much staying on the higher end production level 1911 path with this choice. I don't know that you're going to see too much of a difference from your Kimbers?
I'm intrigued by SIG's DA/SA pistols. With those you are kinda crossing over to "the dark side" I suppose :-)

Nothing wrong with a Sig, I have a couple in my collection. The plus on the one you're looking at is the round butt.

An outsider's perspective...
One of our local shops (The Clyde Armory) has an entire section devoted to LE versions offered by a number of manufacturers. I presume a shop has to qualify or opt in to offer a given manufacturers products that are in that category. Obviously you probably need to verify your status to buy out of those cases.

In our area here, there are authorized SIG dealers, three in our area. At least one of them will most likely be the LE dealer in your area.

I'd suggest contacting your regional SIG rep and ask where the nearest LE dealer is to your location. If needed, I'll ask No. 2 Son and find out for you. Let me know.

Yep that's nice and a round but to boot. There are six of them here in this house and not one has ever malfunctioned or gone back to Customer Service.

Oh, and if you do buy it I don't think Chuck will ban you from the forum; maybe just a two week vacation.
