what do y'all think of thos one?

A buddy needed some cash so I gave him the $250 he wanted and now I am the proud owner of the Kimber shown. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that this gun is not hot. I have the original box with a bill of sale made out to my friend. I don't know anything about it so any input is appreciated. I was hoping it to be an early to mid 90s model. Will find out with a call to them tomorrow but I would like to knwo what you all think. Thanks!

You are going to have a bunch of KT members drooling over this -- you may even get a few offers to take it off your hands

Dave, it's official you stole that one. Welcome to the site from Tennessee.

Model name will be under the ejection port.
Predecessor to the CDP model line.
Looks a little like a CDP Elite but I don't think that's it. Won't have CDP in there I don't think...

We can tell from your pic, It has Wilson Combat grips on it, it is an Ultra something 3" barrel, has early Kimber Heavy Melt Carry treatment (desirable, very nice). Your year (mid 90's) I'll say is close. Kimber customer service should be able to give you a born on date from your serial number.

I appreciate all of the feedback. I'm attaching a picture of the other side (I cant figure out how to do two images at once) but here is the other side. It does in fact have the CDP (ultra cdp) on the ejection port. Does that make it late 90's? I'll find out.

I hope those display correctly...

For the record I'll probably kick my buddy another $200 or so dollars. I think that'll still be a good deal. I can't thank you guys enough for the input; really helping me out.

Very nice score. You'll love that pistol.

Several years ago my best friend was jealous because our circle all had Kimbers and he did not. One rainy afternoon he lamented his problem. He had several other makes of 1911s, but his wife had none.

He sighed, "I should get a Kimber for my wife..."

I stopped short, but I had to be honest, "Gee, Blake, I don't think anyone is going to give you a great pistol like a Kimber in a swap for your wife..."

Funny, we don't talk to each other much anymore.
