Wilson Combat flat wire recoil spring kit

Iím looking into buying the WC flat wire recoil kit for my Aegis Elite Pro, my question is why is the flat wire spring rated at 13 lbs an the stock one from Kimber says itís 22 lbs. That sounds like a big difference any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys...

You're confusing 9mm with 45ACP.

Phil, I may have looked at it wrong on the Kimber website possibly didn’t have the caliber selection correct. My bad, thanks for clearing that up for me. I was always heard that if you didn’t make any mistakes you weren’t trying hard enough. Are you by chance using the WC recoil spring kit, if so do you feel it was worth the investment

Yes I am, in a Pro.

Several years ago I came to this forum asking questions about the WC Flat-wire kit because the factory spring in my Pro was a POS I'd expect to find in the 10-cent bin at Ace Hardware. Chuck and others here were kind enough to steer me in the right direction.

The WC drives the slide into battery smoothly and with authority. Worthy every penny, IMO.

Comparison. Factory on top / Wilson below.

I have a couple and I think it’s an excellent add-on. No more paper clip tools is another plus.

You'll never go wrong with a Wilson Combat Flat Wire Recoil Spring, I run them in all my 4" Pro and 5" Custom 1911's.

Somebody could make a fortune by inventing a flat spring for the Ultra models.

I put one in my Pro Carry II seeing I don't know how many rounds were shot from it. Third owner of it from what I guess, and these recoil springs in the Pro Carry II r only to last from 500 to 1500 rounds.

This imo is a must do. Only thing is I don't like how the recoil guide rod does not meet flush. Yet this I can over come and fix, so its no huge put off. It works very well!
