New member and new Aegis

Hi everyone. I'm a new member here to say hello - I just became the owner of my first 1911 - the Aegis II 9mm. I was told by the store that I could expect some stovepipes during a break-in period (maybe a few hundred rounds). I put 50 rounds through it the other day and it performed flawlessly - and what a nice weapon to shoot! Light recoil, accurate, and feels great in the hand ... I'm still a novice shooter and I have a lot to learn about 1911s so I look forward to pick up some tidbits of wisdom from you fine folks.
Best regards

Hi Canaima, What a sexy gun you got to start shooting with. I'm sure you'll love it. Is you first pistol?

Since I started shooting last year, I've cycled through a few handguns trying to find the best fit and style for me. This is my first 1911 but I currently have a couple of other handguns. Primarily I am practicing with a revolver (Ruger LCR), a standard semi-auto (Sig P232) and now my Kimber. Once I settle down and figure out what pistol or type of pistol works best for me, I'll probably sell em off and settle on 1 (or maybe 2)

Canaima, I bet your Kimber will be with you for a long time. I'm truly amazed on the quality of Kimbers. Without doubt the best 1911's I've ever shot. I bet you can't stop with just one.

I just got one in a 5" last week and I sure do like it.
It's only had a couple hundred through it (some 124gr factory stuff and some 115 gr XTP hand loads) but not a hiccup yet.
