I am not familiar with all the different models, but I am looking for specific suggestions in the 9 mm or .45. Thanks

Well, am I limited to $1,000? Because unless you find a good used deal most are over $1,000. I'll do it both ways.

Right at the $1,000 mark> Stainless Raptor Full Size

If I can go over $1,000 and get what I want> Warrior SOC TFS

I am thinking of carrying it and thinking about the 4 inch barrel in the .45. I am very familiar with the Solo carry SS, so either upgrading to a DC or CDP, maybe laser. I am more leaning towards the .45 and know lest about that line. The dollar limit is not a hard line, but a place to start.

Well I have the DC and although I've only put 100 trouble free rounds through it so far, I really like it as a pocket carry.
However if I were looking for conceal carry outside the pocket, I think one of the .45 Ultra Carries with the 4" barrel would be my preference.

More options not to miss. Buy once, cry once.
Save for a little longer.

I have not found one under a 1,000 but the next Kimber I buy will be an Eclipse Custom II 10 mm. My next choice would be a Raptor ultra or Ultra Raptor. In California I do not get to choose from the whole Kimber Line.

I would hate to spend a $1000 on a gun and it not be what I really want. That's a lot of money to spend to just settle on something. I would wait a little longer and save some more money or look for used.

If there is something that really catches your eye your probably going to eventually buy that gun and the one you settled for is going to sit in your safe. Now you just spent an extra $1000.

I waited 2 years to purchase my new Raptor SS 5". Every time I looked at less expensive guns I was like, is this what I really want. The answer was no , I wanted a Raptor. It was about $300 more then the ones I was going to settle for.
Maybe other people who have more Kimber's can answer this better but I think they shoot pretty much the same. They're all accurate as hell. If you look at the specs the trigger pull is the same. Sights differ a bit. I think when it comes to Kimber pick the one that appeals to you.

Wait until I have the money for the pistol I want is the way I roll, does not matter if it is 700 or 1,500 or 2,000. At this point in my like I never settle for anything less than what I want, there has been occasion I wanted one item and changed to something more expensive.

In my case I think all my Kimber's ARE All accurate, real close to the same. I now have a couple that are a little more accurate especially if you use a bench or a rest. Accuracy is very close within same barrel lengths, Ultra's and Pro models close with Pro having a slight edge, full size shines at greater distance, but at self defense distance all models are to close to call.

More gun porn!! I have owned too many to count and i regret all of them i sold. Save that 1K and save a couple of hundred more. My favorite Kimbers were my Desert and regular Warrior, my Stainless Raptor, my Super Carry Pro HD, and my Tactical Pro ii. Your reallllllllly close brother! Hang on for another C-note or three. I promise you there won't be any regrets! Happy shopping

You can get a Ruger or Springfield 1911 .45 for less than $1,000. You could get a Kimber Custom II (plain Jane with rubber grips) for less than $1,000. I've seen it.
