Holster for Polymer Kimber 3"

Hey all, my wife has a Kimber Ultra Ten II (I'm pretty sure that's the model) - polymer frame short barrel 1911. She's got a class coming up and needs a Kydex holster for it (standard outside belt holster) - but I find nothing online in terms of holsters that will fit it. Its not a standard size 1911, the trigger guard is a little thicker, and probably other dimensions are slightly different.

Anyone else have one of these and know of a kydex holster that will fit it? Thanks much...

First, welcome to the forum. Kimber doesn't make a polymer frame gun. If it is indeed an Ultra, most holster makers use Colt terms and the Ultra would equal an officer size.

I stand corrected, the Ultra ten was made quite a few years ago and was a polymer framed gun. It stlill looks like it would be officers size. I would try to find a shop that would let you try one on for size. If it doesn't fit you may have to have one custom made.

They may not make one now, but they did at one time, its been a number of years.

It looks like this:

It won't fit in a standard officer's holster, as the lower frame and trigger guard is wider/thicker.

Why don't you just buy one from a local gun store where you can fit one to your gun?

Been there, done that - only thing that fits are the sorta cheesy "Uncle Mike's" types that are loose, etc. I'm looking for a fitted kydex holster, and while I've checked all the brands I can think of, I have yet to find one - but thought someone might have come across one. Custom may be all I can do...

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois JeffinCA. It's been a while since I've even seen one of them even mentioned. Kimber had a lot of problems with that polymer frame cracking and decided to quit manufacturing them. I'm sorry but I don't have any suggestions for a holster, good luck finding one.

Researching farther, it looks like it was a double stack gun manufactured by another company and sold by Kimber. Last reference I've found so far looks like 2007-2008 was about the time they were discontinued.

Jeff, What is your mag capacity, I just did a search on that Ten, I see someone had some 14 round mags for that? If that is the case, a big no-no here in our commie state.

Like most any gun I'm sure, there are CA-legal versions (like the one we got) and non-CA versions. We have a CA-version, which of course included only 10 round mags.

Thanks for the input guys, guess there aren't a lot of easy options here.
