Feeding and magazine issue

Hello all, new to this site and just bought a used Master Carry Pro with supposedly very few rounds through it. Bought it from the owner of a gun range who sold it on consignment for one of his customers.
I think I know now why he sold it. Shot it yesterday for the first time and about every 3rd round would catch on the bottom of the feed ramp and jam. Also when pressing the mag release button, it drops about 1 inch and you have to pull it out manually. Possibility these are related? I've never owned a Kimber. Have always shot Sig and never had this issue.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

send it back to Kimber, with the mags, and they will tune the gun up perfectly.

Sounds like grip screws are to tight for mag release? This happened to me along time ago when I changed grips, screws were to tight and could not get mag to slide out. Just a thought.

Welcome to the forum from Northeast, Pa. Did you clean and lube this gun before the trip to the range. They also recommend 230gr ball ammo, especially if it's not broken in. If all fails call Kimber.

Yes,cleaned and lubed and 230gr pmc ball ammo. I guess I've had really good luck with my sigs, never had this problem.
Will Kimber address this problem since I'm not the original owner?

The thing is when you buy a used Kimber you don't know always, if the previous owner fully broke it in 4 to 500 rounds break in with ball ammunition. Clear the weapon to unload the magazine and look in the well to see if the grip screws are protruding. Also inspect the magazine and see if there are any scratches from those screws .

What kind of mag were you using? Cheap mags cause problems.

The mags are the ones that come with the gun when new. Tac Mag?
I'm almost positive the previous owner didn't do the break in. It hardly looked like it had been fired.

I think I found where the mag is hanging up, but what's causing it? About 1 1/2 inches down from the top of the mag is scratched on one side. (The whole depth of the mag ) I'd upload a pic, but it won't let me. It's rubbing on the frame.

Just tried another magazine and same thing. The frame must be pinching the mag. Anybody else had this problem?
