Kimber Micro carry advice/experience

Good Morning,

Just got my new .380 micro. I am an experienced cond I carrier with full sized 1911s but I have a doubt or two re carrying the Micro this way. Mainly, I'm not sure I trust the MIM sear and hammer. Your comments, advice and personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Terry

I have been carrying my Micro in condition 1 since the first month I became comfortable with it. Sorry, I am not sure about the MIM sear and hammer, so I can't speak to that concern. Enjoy your Micro.

Welcome to Kimber Talk. I'm sure somebody will be along soon with a good answer for you. I haven't received my micro yet that I ordered before Christmas

I carry mine condition 1 always. It still has the trigger safety firing pin block. I wouldn't worry about it. If the hammer drops it's still not going off.

Does the micro have the half notch stop for the hammer that would be a safety also as well as the firing pin block.

You can check by just pull in the hammer back and see if it clicks once and then clicks twice.

There's no reason that your MIM parts would be inherently less reliable than those made by any other process. Treat your new gun just as you would any of your full size 1911s.

True, the steel and heat treat process is the same to spec. Fit and finish is more subjective. If it works from the factory I see no reason for any different wear.
