Clean & Lube Per Kimber

Not sure if this is still a part of the Kimber info package but this was in my SIS Ultra box. Hope the pic are OK. We see these questions over and over, how and should I clean/lube my Kimber.
Well here you go straight from the Mother Ship Kimber!

Chuck, I would like to say maybe this needs to be a "Sticky" plus I think it applies to all firearms.

Your new SIS is definitely a keeper! For comparison, here's what was included with the new RCP which was built the last week of 2015.

Isn't what Kimber is advising pretty much what other gun manufacturers recommend as well. In other words, one could change the name at the top from "Kimber" to "Heckler Koch" and it would read almost identically.

For example, I have yet to read any gun manual that say anything like,"oil and grease that beech until it runs and drips off the barrel". I am exaggerating of course, but then I have never read a manual that recommends heavy use of oil or grease anywhere on the gun.

Additionally, have you ever read this? "To clean the gun jam the cleaning rod down the muzzle from the crown of the barrel toward the chamber". Nope.

Am I missing something here?

Yes, that's why I said in the last sentence "plus I think it applies to all firearms." A little common sense.
The only thing you may have missed is this was mostly intended for newbies or people that when they join and have issues with there pistol. Either ask how to clean and lube or say I didn't see that in the manual or otherwise make excuses when it is right there in Red & White.

...or join this forum and learn a lot more about your Kimber than what could possibly be found in the manual for your gun.

Me thinks.
