I used to get a tingle too! That was when I was dealing with working telephone lines. When they are idle they have 48 DC volts. Then when they ring, they have 96 AC volts. That will give you a little tingle, specially if your feet are wet.
The real thrill is when you are handling wires, your feet are wet and some fool repairman applied a breakdown set to the line, in order to locate a swinging short circuit. That test set puts 610 AC volts straight across the line. That heavy voltage is supposed to run to the short and fuse the light short solidly so that it can be measured. The repairman was supposed to check if anyone was working in the cable before applying the breakdown set (The original Taser!). Most didn't!! Why did I hate Cable Repairmen? Hmmmm, I wonder???
