Value of Kimber Stainless II in .40

A few years ago I bought a Kimber Stainless II in.40 and have never seen another. Are these really all that rare or have I just not been looking in the right places. The Blue Book doesn't list any different value for the .40 caliber. I was trying to decide if I should shoot it or just leave it as a safe queen.

Who ya gonna save it for? Shoot it, enjoy it and use it. You can always check a shooters bible and get a rough idea what it might be worth. You can take it to a gun show, walk it around and get a diverse idea of how much it might be worth. If it's worth a ton more than what you paid you could sell it and buy something else or bank the money. How long wold it take to really go up in value also. Options !

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois IATURNKEY. I'd shoot and enjoy the gun, unless someone really want's a Stainless II in .40 it's doesn't have any real collector value.

The best I can tell, Kimber produced the Stainless .40 S&W from 1999-2007. It held 8 rounds and had fixed low profile sights.
MSRP= $1,009.00
Used= $760.00

I saw one for sale on GunsAmerica with an opening bid of $500.00 and a current high bid of $968.00. Auction is still active.

So I say shoot, shoot, shoot that thing.

Wink Here Ya Go!

My research revealed about the same thing that Arland found. My suggestion is the same as his. SHOOT THAT THANG!!!!

I'd wouldn't mind having a stainless 1911 in .40 S&W, but I wouldn't pay a premium price to get it. Just sayin' .........!

Back in 2004 I traded a Kimber Stainless Target II in .40 for a Ultra CDP and at that time a Kimber Master Dealer only gave me a little over $400.00.Stupidest thing(well nearly the stupidest)I ever did.That pistol was very reliable and accurate to boot.

You could send it to me and I will shoot then I will send it back to you. You then could sell it and tell the buyer it has always been a safe queen while in your possession.

Thanks for all of your help guys, when I found it a few years ago I was just happy to find a .40 1911. I have been shooting an STI 2011 for most of my USPSA shoots and really only used the KIMBER to check new loads. Now I just have to figure out if it is better to buy a new single stack STI or have this one worked on.
