Experienced shooters I have a question

Scenerio
You have to unholster your 1911 quickly and shoot. At what point between unholstering and pulling the trigger do you disengage the safety?

Just as soon as you can RELIABLY get your thumb on it. For me it's about half way on it's way to being on target after clearing the holster. FINGER STILL OFF THE BANG SWITCH.

My unholster to fire time is measured in sub micro seconds. Sometime within the 0.35 microseconds my god like quickness and reflexes undo the safety. Typically I am also leaping to either my right or my left to protect an innocent and/or to create a more dramatic replay for any cameras that might catch my amazing and heroic counter fire.

Iz dis a serious question?

Don't mind the kids, they don't play well with others, but they're harmless.

My serious answer is....the thumb saftey is disengaged as I draw. Finger off the trigger until I'm on target and ready to shoot.
