what's the deal with the Kimber cases?

Had my new Pro CDP II come in a few weeks ago, I've noticed in pics of other Kimbers here the same black plastic "case"?
I'm not complaining, it's better than nothing. Mine's a bit on the "milk toast" side of lightweight though and the foam falls out? Why not a little heavier duty case Kimber :-)

The cases are junk in my opinion...You would think at the price that they charge the foam would have a cut out for the gun to sit in...

On the other hand, it sure beats the heck out of what they ship out the Solo in....No plastic box just a nylon zippered pouch that is shipped in a cardboard box..

The Micro comes the same way as the Solo.
Plastic cases can be nice but for the most part
all of mine seem to end up on a table in the basement.

Same here Colonel....My guns are in the safe and all of my gun cases are stored away in boxes in the back of the closet...

At least the Solo has something special for itself.

I don't see much use in the cases other than taking up storage space. My XDms came in heavy cases with nice cutouts - seemed like a waste. My first Micro came in a box with a cloth case. Second one came in a plastic baggie

All my cases are in the basement in Rubbermaid containers. I use gun rugs and put them in my range bag. It would be nice to see Kimber make a better case but I still wouldn't use them.

I agree 100%. I keep mine just in case I for some unknown reason decide to sell one but they just take up extra storage space I don't have.

How about a nice wooden case as a maybe $30 option? For the price of a Kimber that would really be nice

Yep & include a 'second' mag and call it a 'Special Edition' for $50.
