Freedom Munitions in your Solo

Anyone shoot Freedom Munitions in their Solo? Specifically, the 147 gr. JHP?

I'm asking because I recently bought a bunch of 135 gr. JHP, and none of it fits the gun. The shoulder on the projectile is so high, that the bullet engages the rifling before the cartridge is fully into the barrel. If you have the barrel in your hand, you can't just drop the cartridge in.

I tried the ammo in two other 9's, and their is no problem.

Freedom has issued an RSA for the remaining four boxes of ammo, but they aren't really forthcoming with info. I don't know if the problem is unique to my gun, or if their ammo is bogus. I've found no print that shows the dimensions of where the bullet will interfere with the rifling.

So if you shoot their 147 in your Solo with success, please let me know.

Thanks,
Rob

Success. I have used their 124,135 & 147 in both of my Solo's. Wanna buy some?

Wait... what? If you're holding your barrel in your hand, can you drop in a 135 JHP and have it go in all the way? Mine DEFINITELY will not swallow that round. It will sit about 1/16" high. If I slam the slide home, then extract the round, I can see the marks that the rifling leaves in the bullet.

Now I don't know if Kimber bored my barrel wrong, or if Freedom jacked up their ammo! Since a Sig and an S&W will eat this ammo all day long, maybe I need to give Kimber a call... again...

Yes, both ate the 135 JHP, no problem. PM me your address and I will send you some 135 to compare and 147 to try out?

You're awesome, Hoff. How about just one round each of 135 and 147? That's enough for me to see if it fits the barrel. Sending a PM in a couple minutes.

No problem. I will send it to your FFL, then you can pick it up in 10 days. Oh wait, is this ammo on roster?

Oh, darn. I was hoping you'd send it straight to my house, then I'd get a gold star for being the ATF Agent with the most sting arrests this month.

Yes, please. One round each of 135 JHP and 147 JHP. If the 135 fits in yours, but not mine, then I know my barrel is different. I have one round on my desk that does NOT fit, and I'm eager to compare it with one of yours.

Did you see the PM I sent?
