Lands & Grooves by Kimber

I found this magazine at a local store for $8.99 and finally got a chance to look through it last night.

It started out with operations manager Bill Southward saying how lucky we were, generally we do not allow non employees inside the factory. True to their word other then a couple of pictures of employees working at a bench there were no actual factory pictures.

From there they go into a story on the K6s wheel gun, I learned that the "s" stood for small and Crimson Trace makes the rubber non laser grips for the gun. Rumor has it there will be a green laser grip in the near future.

A very brief story on how Kimber got it's start by Patrick Sweeney (my favorite handgun reviewer) and then we go into what is basically a 65 page glorified 2016 catalog.

It wasn't what I expected at all, had I had time to look through it before I bought it I think I would have saved my money.

Sounds like you could get the same info from Wiki. Thanks for the info Chuck. I would have been tempted to pick it up too.

These magazines are free to take at the LGS? I see them in a stack by front door.

Good try anyway Chuck. I was waiting patiently for your review. Thanks for trying it. I guess like they say you can't always judge a book by it's cover.

I hate to be the one to tell you this but that is the 2016 catalog I have one. Turner's Outdoorsman Sporting goods store gives them out free.

As some others have mentioned, my LGS (a Kimber Master Dealer) gave me one. I remember Chevy dealers selling ($25) Corvette promotional material that GM intended to be FREE to customers interested in buying a Vette. History is repeating...Sounds like some stores are getting a little greedy.

Shame on me, I haven't seen a new Kimber catalog in a while, none of the dealers around here have them. I found this on a magazine rack in a convenience store. It has a printed price tag on the cover right above the bar code. What the hell is Kimber selling them, if so then that sucks.
