Buying my first Kimber.

After much deliberation between SA, Taurus, Rock Island, STI, and Kimber, I found a Pro Carry II that I decided I couldn't live without. I would very much like any opinions on the firearm, as well as any stories you may have about time spent at the range with it. My goal is to learn as much as possible about the Kimber brand, from the people who know it best, the consumers. Thanks in advance for any advice/stories you guys have to share!

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois GJ1984 and congratulations on your new Pro Carry II. Read your owners manual, clean and lube the gun before your first range visit and follow the break in instructions using the proper ammunition and have fun.

1911s are great handguns in quality and accuracy. Kimber give high value at a very reasonable price.

Chuck I didn't know you were a Joe Pickett fan. I recently finished his #8 Blood Trail. Nate R. and his Freedom Arms 454 Casull is often the best part of a CJ Box's novel.

When you get to book #10 "Nowhere To Run" you'll come across that line, twice. I posted the line just to see if there were any other C J Box fans in the audience.

I love my CDP Pro, The pro models are my favorite. Good choice on your first Kimber. Remember I said first Kimber they are addictive. Probably should have that warning in large print on the outside of the factory case!

GJ1984, welcome to the site from Tennessee! Don't own a Pro Carry but I do have two different Pro model Kimber's a Master Carry Pro and a Sapphire Pro and both are very accurate trouble free pistols.
I have several range reports posted about them.
Follow Chuck's advice and you will be fine.
