Seniors for switch blades!

IMG_1672.JPGJust acquired this Ravencrest Tactical Mini.
It only has a two and three-quarter inch blade but would be pretty handy for one hand deployment in self-defense situation. There are still a few states in the country that outlaw even the possession of a switchblade or OTF Auto. It's really ridiculous that some states still outlaw these knives. I think they were banned in the 50s mainly over hysteria from movies like the Wild Ones and West Side Story. Archaic. Something like this should also be covered under the second amendment. After all knives are arms. Just look what's attached to some of those old muskets back in 1776.

I'm fortunate enough to live in a state where auto knives are allowed, but the manufacture of them too. Benchmade is located here in Oregon (Kershaw also) and as such my safe has quite a collection of their offerings, both autos and standard folders.

But you're right, they're illegal in many states due to silly hoopla based on the old gangster movies. There's times when a 'one-handed knife' can really be an asset. "One hand for the boat, the other for you".......

Up until this year they were illegal in Illinois but the law was recently changed and now we can have them.

That's a really nice cutter CuCa. I guess that I will have to wait until I'm a senior to buy one though since that's the title of the tread.....

Switchblades have been free in Tennessee for several years now.

I agree. Right now I'm looking for a right hand, clip point Mikov with bolsters. I have a about thirty sets of springs, which can be replaced by hand.

Great knives, my wife has a left-handed one.

I'm really surprised switchblades are illegal in Pennsylvania. Anyone who can own a gun can open carry without a permit but you can't carry a switchblade. Go figure.

It was the same way here in Illinois JC. Up until this year I could carry a gun but not a switchblade.
