Killed a knife today

I had to sacrifice an old knife for a practical joke today. This weekend I am taking my cousin for his first time fishing. He is flying in from out of town to join 4 of us on our annual trip to a beautiful lake in the Rocky's. Knowing he could not bring a knife on the plane I told him to not worry about a thing, I ha him covered! Yesterday I took an old cheap fixed blade that one of my body-men had stashed in his tool box. It was chipped, had a broken tip and the scales were loose...PERFECT. I promptly took said knife over to the bench grinder and ground the edge to a very nice, totally safe, blunt and rounded, useless instrument. It made me cringe to do something like that, but it will be worth it. This will be a gag gift, and I have a nice, unused Gerber that will be his for the weekend. Cant wait to see the look on his face!

Yikes! That wasn't a sacrifice! That was pure murder!

Then again, my favorite move is "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance." Towards the end, John Wayne says to Jimmy Steward, "Yes, it was pure murder--but I can live with that..."

Besides, it doesn't sound like we could fix it.

Chico, I thought about you as I was at the grinder knowing you would be shaking your head the whole time!

There has to be a better way of conveying displeasure. I mean, using "grinding" and "Chico" in the same sentence is kind of "Coyote Ugly," if you catch my drift.

Sure, it's happened before...
