Charity Knife Auction

A few months before the Barge onslaught, I made a copy in 440C of the Coye fixed blade knife. That knife went for 475 dollars so I figured my polished version would be about 250.

Well, Jen came up to me today at B&N and said that the "book season" (her way of saying 'charity drive') was starting this week.

I took my Coye copy, boxed it and put it away. It hasn't cut a thing.

I'm wondering if you guys would like to have this knife. I have not contacted Chuck yet to verify this offer, nor is there a required opening bid. All the money goes to charity, if the idea meets with forum considerations.

If it's for a charity I have no problem with it, you have my blessing.

Thanks, Chuck.

Linda, the director of "The House of Hope," knows that Jen has gotten some big donations, but has never met "the fundraisers."

I hope my wife gets a good shot of her look when she realizes her best contributors were old bikers and gun nuts!

Okay, it's now Sunday, November 4, 2018. You may offer your bids through November 11, 2018 until 11:59PM.

I will take your check (or cash it to keep your info secret) and have a picture taken with Jen at Barnes & Noble in East Towne Mall in Madison, Wisconsin, holding the money.

As with knives, you are invited to check our credentials and I will provide any information you may need. I will also be going over the edge of the knife again to make sure storage has not left a scratch or a buffing mark.

I'll start the bidding at $50.

The rest of you should just close your wallets and step away from the table.
