My dad used to look at a "menu" like that and announce:

"I see nothing here to object to!"

I'm in . "Gadgitholics Anonymous" you must have at least 20 knives, a dozen flashlights and a dozen guns to join. (or in my case, double all of these)

Oh! Oh! I like this club! Can I get in? Please? Pleeeeeze? Here's the maid, Emma, with my push button family:

The marbled Milano (a.k.a. "the cheapie")

The big stag kriss

My Beltrame mini

The full size Frank Beltrame in Azure

The full size Armando Beltrame in pearl

And, because Chico was saying... something... about them, my 777 Blackfinger

Yeah, I should start collecting Italian knives again. I like the 4-inch models the best, they seem more balanced artistically.

Josh is out of the black handled models, but he has some very red 4s that would be ideal. Yikes, I'm back collecting...

Man's gotta have a hobby -- at least you don't need to buy a new $5,000 dog!

Well, I do have a 500 dollar dog. But over time he's eaten more than 5,000 dollars...

Sure, but. I shudder to think what my old $4500 Dodge cost if I included all the fuel I burned to get over a half million miles on it...

I used to have a rule where I would only buy one engine at a time, until it was restored, and only then would I buy another.

Then the rule changed where I'd buy another engine while I was still restoring another, so I'd have something to work on immediately after the current restoration was complete. My stuff is very rare, so sometimes it might take months or years to find something you want. Makes sense, right?

Eventually I got so bad that I'd have several engines in need of restoration, while I was working on filling up a foreign shipping container to import to the U.S.

I've calmed down a little since then.

It's all about balance, dawg. Just be grateful the weight of knives isn't measured in tons. Are they all polished to 0.01μ yet?

I polish knives until the client whines he's cutting himself too much.

But doesn't everyone have to have his schtick, his bones, his chops, his fast-ball?

I started to learn how to sharpen as a kid in my dad's woodworking shop. He was anal, too. He had a drill press, a wood lathe and electric table saw. Being an engineer he could have built a glider in that shop, wooden pegs and everything.

I liked Harley motors and blades. Later I learned how to reload and had my own shop in a spare bedroom. It was the Dillon presses that made it all work. Casting was more of a craft and art. All my bullets were perfect, or thrown back into the smelter.

I still have a bucket of semi-wadcutters in .452 used in .45 ACP paper punch competitions.

PS. BTW, those knives in my drawer belong to Bada Bing Emporium. They're not for looking at, they're merchandise. Make an offer, I have hospital bills to pay...and I'll take a picture of my stomach for pity, I swear!
