You're right, but what we do here is not really what real-deal Japanese togishi polishing is about.
For example, let's suppose that the KimberTalk forum had never met any of the polishers I know. However, one of the members had to repair/refurbish a very important knife--like one that belonged to his grandfather.
Any of these guys (me included) would take Ken's stones and nanodiamond slurry and do their best work
You'd ask for the invoice, and they would say, "That will be one hundred dollars per inch...

Chuck's idea for the Knives Forum was to showcase knives you might never have seen, offer tools you might want/need and encourage DIY projects. To do that, I have to buff up your knives and return them to you so you decide if you wanted to learn the craft.
That, and I hate guys who go to family reunions with their brand new real estate licenses. This is a hobby forum, hopefully a cadre' of friends.
