I asked Joyce for a cheaper knife for doing weekend chores. She said she had a Schrade switchblade that fit the bill. I got it today.
Considering the price, wow, this folder should really challenge Boker. The blade rips open with a snap only seen on top-flight switchbades!
The bevel is the widest I've ever seen. And considering that this is an Emerson clone, the edge is only on the left side only. That means this puppy has an extreme edge, and it did nip me a few times just changing hands. Nothing serious, but I learned to be careful.
As I like, this folder comes in "coil drive." It has a secure pocket clip, held in place with a stout bolt screwed into the end-butt--which is capped with a glass breaking point.
The handle itself, also much like a Boker, has three wide, textured finger grooves. The handle spine is completely jimped, you're not going to lose this switchblade, wet or dry.
The polishing made this knife capable of any medium.
It's a great knife at an amazing price, just be careful. Schrade made this thing to slice
