I cleaned my sharpening fixture today...

...because in just a day or two, my new switchblade Buck 112 will be here!

I'll make sure that it's "new edge" knocks the socks off all of you. I might even do the brass and the sheath snap. Yeah, I know I had promised I wouldn't...

Oh, and Joyce did tell me that the Buck 112 Finger Groove is her favorite knife. And she hasn't seen one in a while.

It dawned on me that I have her knife and she has mine. I re-polished the knife again, and made sure the edge and bevel were also re-polished and toasty. The sheath with the polished snap was also wrapped separately in a zippered baggie.

I packed the knife in black tissue paper and a micro-fiber cloth and stuffed it all in a zippered baggie. It goes out UPS when my wife and I go to the mall.

...I hope she doesn't cry...

That wasn't a promise dear, it was a hope.

I just got a UPS update. My package comes tomorrow, so I'll be polishing that Buck 112 automatic very soon.

...perhaps just a smidgen of cosmetic polish...

OK Chico, now you have piqued our interest, how about a step-by-step pictorial when you start work on it?
