Big Surprise When I Got Home

Got home from another busy day at the office. After I changed in to my comfy shorts and t-shirt, Ms Tejun had a glass of wine ready for me and said there was something for me on the desk downstairs.

WhooHoo !! A KME Sharpening System. Iíve been sharpening knives since I unpacked it and assembled. 😎.

Not sure how she picked that one. Maybe talked to one of our friends that collects knives.

So, that's cool. And it makes me want to send something to The Tourist.

After sharpening one of the cheapo knives I bought at the gun show, I felt confident enough to get out my oldest Buck 110, the one I've had since I was in high school. I remember trying hard to sharpen that knife on my grandfathers sharpening stone. Spent tons of time on it, but never could get a good edge on it. Got the angle established on the KME and started with the 140 grit diamond stone. Got a consistent burr pretty quickly, then progressed through the stones up to the 1500 grit diamond. The edge on this knife was never even close to what I got with the KME and in just a short amount of time.

Sorry, forgot to take a pic last night. I ended up sharpening 4 knives in all. I particularly like the jaw system that holds the knife steady. I have been really struggling on the EP Clone with holding the knife correctly, particularly when it came to using my right hand to hold the knife and making stone strokes with my lelft.

Ms Tejun finally let me know she'd found a YouTube video I was watching on our iPad about the KME Sharpener (glad it was that one and not one of the bikini fishing videos ) so she decided to order me one since I'm about finished with the lakehouse bathroom remodel and finally started on the flower bed at our townhouse.

Another project that is on the agenda is building her a "She Shed" at the lake, so heck.... I may get a new 1911 out of that project if I play my cards right
