The knife's alloy and the polish.

The act of polishing an edge is not just done for embellishment. Rather, the 'shine' on the bevel is the proof that the 'edge of the edge' is as sharp as that alloy allows.

Granted, some knives are deliberately finished with a toothy edge. If I had to be slicing wet rubber all day long I would create this toothy edge.

However, for most of us the polished edge is a way to make a better slice, and to do so with less work and muscle pain.

I'm having trouble posting pictures at this time. When that is cleared up I intend to post pictures of the numerous polishes available and a few knives with harder alloys to buff.

Haven't any of the other member suggestions helped you?

I'm eager to see how you deal with different chunks of exotic rock and metal. In my quest for Nollij, I've encountered many on the interwebs who I suspect are false prophets bearing the oil of many snakes.

A. In the KT message posting screen click the paperclip icon (it's right next to the smiley face).

B. The "Manage Attachment" screen will now show. Click the "Browse" button. Locate the picture on your computer and double-click on your picture.

C. The "Manage Attachment" screen will show again. Click the "Upload" button. Wait for a few seconds until it's uploaded.

Done.

Thanks, Phil, I'll try that after I get back from the gym. Right now it's coffee time so I can find my way there and back!

Edit: I tried it real quick, and voila, all my pictures appeared in the extreme left side of the screen.

I can just drag and drop them! Thanks, Phil.

I don't know about dragging and dropping, but if you follow the method I described it will work and you'll be posting thumbnail pics that folks can expand to see clearly.
