Wow, that was fast getting here...

I've been collecting smaller knives lately, simply because they are handy tools and you can open a package or an envelope in public. I do try and search out knives in the 2.25 or 2.5 inch range hoping the blade blank is thick enough for real work.

I didn't need to worry about this new Cold Steel 'tuff lite.' That's their title replete in small letters. All you have to do is look at the width of the blade blank to understand 'tuff.'

The knife showcased in the article I found showed the knife with red handle. I thought it looked good and I didn't have any folders in that color. But it was the edge that impressed me. Usually a factory knife comes with poorly formed edge and it needs to be properly finished. This bevel was straight, true, sharp and uniform. You just slip it in your pocket and go!

As for us polishers, I was pleased the factory also cut a choil, leaving plenty of blade blank thickness around the entire pivot and down the spine. The pocket clip is stout and fastened with three screws, it ain't going anywhere.

It's an excellent buy for 50 bucks.

I like the design of that blade, based on your evaluation of it I had to look it up. I found it on Amazon for $28.67, they offer it in Black, Blue, Flat Dark Earth, OD Green and Red. A Blue one should be in my hands tomorrow.

Yeah, Chuck, I saw the price of 28 bucks, but I have a supplier who (while great, fast and fair) dings me for freight, packing, and probably 'color of object' for all I know. Then again, it was shipped two-day. That boosts the price.

BTW, you'll love this little folder. The shape of the grip fits your hand, the blank is thick and mine came sharpened and perfectly shaped.

Nice little folder for jeans, and strong enough to do any garage chore.

Looks like you need a new supplier. Maybe they're buying from Amazon and just adding 20 bucks for the trouble.

Amazon is half the price and free 2-day shipping. Under $30 at Blade HQ and others.

Is it the same supplier that said over a year ago that the Barge would soon be sold out everywhere and unavailable... that sellers still can't rid of today for $15?

I usually have knives shipped to me in the "7 to 10 day" window. This one came in two days. The slip even says that 10 bucks was just for shipping. It actually surprised me when it showed up. You'd be amazed on how some clients do not wish to wait, and pony up the larger shipping charge.

Ten bucks shipping for a freakin' knife?

Every knife I've purchased from BladeHQ or Knife Center has been shipped in a padded envelope via USPS for roughly $2.50 - $3.00 or even free shipping.

Are you getting ripped off from that supplier?

Hey, when a client wants a knife, you get the knife for him...

This is suburbia, you should see the thousands they pay for a barbeque grill!

Edit: In five months I turn 70 years old. My wife and I have determined we no longer need this "third income" from knife sales. I'm not taking new orders, and when those are done, I am done. The nice thing about it is that I will just be a 'knife hobbyist' at that point, and it will be my turn to yell at the knife salesmen...
