New Spyderco

I just purchased my first "all serrated" folder. It's a 3.5 inch Spyderco, and kind of spooky looking, actually. I figured after all these years or trying to slice open cardboard boxes and cutting coarse twine I owed myself some features.

My pictures don't want to post. I'll work on it...

I've never owned a serrated knife, but I'm done trying to open UPS boxes even with a razor blade knife.

In all seriousness, if the edge gets dull, you flip it over and using a very flat level on your Edge Pro, you lightly pull the stone "only south."

Besides, I needed something 'new' and different.

So what knife did you get? What flavor of steel?

I've done a few serrated knives using those CRKT diamond rods that you recommended. I got the knives acceptably sharp, but it's not my best work. Show us some pics if you decide to sharpen it up.

About the pictures. It just occurred to me that Google offers a whole range of services, and one is for photos. I clicked on over there, and discovered that I was actually playing with Google Photos a few years ago and had a couple hundred pictures there.

My thought is that you can create an account, go to the Photos area, drag and drop your photos there, click on Share, click on Create Link, and then paste that link into a Kimbertalk message. Since you're quarantined, you'll have time to work it out today.

I'm gonna try pasting a link right here. It's a picture of my girls playing on the playground equipment. Let's see if it works...

As for steel, it's just mundane 8Cr13Mov. Yes, I'll probably touch up the really obvious quirks, but it's pretty good right now. After all, I didn't buy a knife to fix, I bought it to use. So far, nothing much has been called for.
