Talking New Kimber owner !!

For the longest time, I was apprehensive about owning a firearm. But things that have happened in the recent past have lead me to believe that I must at the minimum be prepared, in case there was a need to take up arms. Off I went to the local arsenal and took an intro class, followed by a couple of times on the range with a rental. This was 45 days ago.

Well, after a while of reading a lot on the various models, calibers, home/carry, and watching the entire hickok45 series on YouTube, etc. etc., I decided it was time for me to take the plunge into owning one. Picked up a Springfield Armory XDm-9 Compact a month ago. I guess the collecting is an addiction 'cos since then, I've added another SA XDs-9 for EDC as soon as my CHP is approved.

Was chatting with the RSO last night about 1911's. Told him I've been looking for one and he reaches into his IWB and pulls out this awesome looking Kimber Stainless Pro Carry II in .45 ACP. We got talking some more and he let me shoot a few. As we are coming out of the range, he said it was for sale for the right price as he needed the cash right now. We agreed to a price today and now its mine!!! It has a few upgrades done - extended safety lever, magwell, night sights, etc.

I've always enjoyed the forums for my various hobbies/activities in the past.

Welcome and congrats. A coveted pre series II pro carry! I don't believe that trigger is original either. Wonder if all the internals were replaced? Not that is a bad thing. Many think the MIM parts are in need of replacing. What did you give for it? Just curious as the pre II guns have a cult following.
