Smile From the Panhandle of Florida

Hello Kimber Folks,

I have been shooting for about 59 years ... all kinds of firearms with a particular interest in tournament skeet shooting in my late teen-early adult life. The first firearm I ever shot was a WWII Colt 1911 ... I was 5 years old :-) As a result of that early remembrance, the 1911 has always held a "special" place in my heart.

As I am getting older and the summers seem to be getting hotter here in Florida, my compact 9mm double stack was becoming somewhat uncomfortable to summer carry. So, I started thinking about a pocket carry piece. I am a RSO at a local range and have had the opportunity to shoot the usual suspects ... LCP, Bodyguard, Glock G42, etc. and was not overly impressed with that "style" of pocket rocket.

A couple of weeks ago, I happened to stop by a Gander Mountain and staring at me (in the display case) was a Kimber Micro .380 with stainless slide ... and it was on SALE :-) Well, I just couldn't resist and it followed me home. What more could a guy ask for that was looking for a pocket carry and loves 1911's ? The Micro is my first Kimber and I got to say the fit and finish are outstanding.
