New Kimber Owner

Getting to know my 1st Kimber, a Pro CDP II, so far liking it very much except for the takedown process. Ordered one of the Kimber Pro and Compact Take Down Tools by 1911 Ultra Tool and looking forward to never handling one of the paper clip tools again.

Yeah, the paper clip is stupid. Kimber could cast some Delrin spacer tools for pennies apiece.

Welcome to KT.

Yeah, I agree with Ron. I'm a big fan of firearms that will field strip without the use of any tool. The use of full-length guide rods is a major contributor to this problem.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois RonHK and congratulations on your new Pro CDP II. Your recoil spring is scheduled to be replaced at 800 rounds. At that time or sooner if you wish I'd suggest you invest in a Wilson Combat Flat Wire Recoil Spring Kit. With the kit installed you won't need any kind of a tool to break the gun down and the new spring will have 40,000 round life.
