Newbie from Middle Georgia (that's the U.S. Georgia)

OK, I was asked by a moderator to visit this forum and introduce myself.

I'm called Muley because my sister in law once decided that A) since I had a number of mules and really liked them, the name would be appropriate or B) My personality matched the reputation that mules have. In any event, I'm proud to be associated with the world's oldest hybrid, and probably most successful too!

My mules are long dead, but I do have a jackass, cows, chickens, dogs and an occasional cat when she needs food. Before someone decides to call me jackass, let's just say Muley is fine.

I have always hunted and shot, though I don't go either one of those activities as much as I used to, the former because I'm usually busy with something else or just plain tired and the latter because it now is very pricey. I have been away from reloading for over twenty years but intend to build an indoor "work place" and start back again sooner than later.

Motorcycles have been a part of my life for over forty years, and I currently own a '98 Moto Guzzi which took me all the way from here to Key West and then to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and back again, a round trip of over 14,000 miles. Now, with over 130,000 miles on the bike, it mostly sits in the garage gathering dust, but still have 16 states left to ride to, which will get me all of the 49 I can ride to, and on the same motorcycle. Maybe this summer...?

I just bought my wife a Kimber micro .380 in the two tone version 'cause "I want a Kimber" Now I'm trying to learn about the little pistol from you long time enthusiasts.

I also still work at three jobs, four days a week running a motor grader for the county, weekends and holidays doing consulting forestry (I've been a registered forester for forty years), and also trying to produce pecans on a forty acre orchard. Incidentally, this year's pecan money allowed me to purchase the wife's new pistol

We have four sons and two grandchildren, but, and don't tell anyone, my two Labs and German Shorthair are about my favorite critters, and my other ambition, besides the motorcycle trips, is to take all of them pheasant hunting many more times.

That's not all, but that's enough for now.

California is one of the states my bike hasn't been to yet. I'll look you up if I ever make it out there, and the drinks are on me.

The shame of it is, it won't take me but a couple weeks to pick up those five states and not that much money. What has happened to us that we can't find the time anymore?

I use to ride often, road and dirt. Ducati has always been my ride, love the sound of the V and dry clutch. I sold because of that thing called time, just didn't have it anymore. I will get another when I catch that time! KTM is my dirt, I have some property so I get to fire that up every now n then. Kids are growing and rather do stuff with there buddies, I get it. Heck, both left this morning to go snowboarding. Blow the dust off the Guzzi and buy a Kimber for yourself!!

Welcome, Muley.
There's a lady who runs a pack mule train near here. I think she's one of the two remaining in the U.S. We cross paths periodically when I'm hiking with my dogs in the mountains. Usually her mules are tied up in a line, but once there was one "off leash." She told me it was a young mule in training. They're fun to watch.
