I finally " bit the bullet" and purchased a Kimber! I was looking for a light weight, easy to conceal every day carry weapon. I settled on a Micro .380 RCP with the carry melt treatment. I am holed up with a terrible cold right now so i have had any range time yet but i did break it down, cleaned and oiled getting it ready to go!. I did notice that it has the old style recoil rod and spring in it. Worth it to upgrade? Also as a law enforcement officer (now retired) we were required to "point and shoot" during our qualifications.the RCP has a trench-cut sight on it. Im still hoping to hit center-mass at 20-25 yards, not bullseyes!. If not i may see if i can find a vendor and change the slide. Fit and finish on this pistol is awesome! We are going to spend countless hours together so i hope it does it's part if i do mine LOL.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois Lesf and congratulations on the new Kimber. I don't think you're going to find it difficult to hit what your shooting at with the trench sight, it's a very fast and accurate sight. I'd definitely recommend upgrading your recoil spring and guide rod. Give Kimbers customer service a call and they will send you a new set free of charge.

Welcome to the forum from GA. I give up....what's a carry melt treatment? I've had some problems with my Micro 380 Advocate but I still love it, it is a sweet little shooter. As Oreste said, "smooth and accurate."...and it's pretty too! Is carry melt...rounded edges?

Yes, carry melt treatment has every edge and corner smoothed over to prevent it catching on clothing or anything else. They also added a trench-cut sight, eliminating any chance of the sight hanging up on anything when you draw.

Wink Hey Ya'll!!!

Welcome to KT from Monroe, Georgia!!
Monroe Water Tower.JPG

Congrats on the new Micro .380. Lots of those being sold. It is a real hot item. Nice looking and from the write-ups a pretty good shooter. How about posting some pictures and a range report after you get over the cold and get in some range time.

As for the cold, the green Mucinex guy usually helps out. He's gross, but it works!!

Mucinex Guy.jpg <---Mr. Mucus has had a carry melt!! Notice he has no sharp edges or corners!!

Glad to have you with us. The cold, not so much! Looking forward to hearing more from you!!

Lesf, welcome to the site from Tennessee. The RCP is the model Micro I would buy also.

It goes with my Ultra RCP .45.
