New from Cumming GA

Hey y'all!

I've been poring over the Kimber threads for the Sapphire (which I CRAVE -- but can't really see paying so much for) and the Micro(s) -- which I want, except I have a few questions (which I will ask in the Micro section).

I have my late husband's CDP II, which is beautiful but I'm a bit of a weenie when it comes to using .45s... I can shoot his Kimber, but it's hard on my wrists. (My carry gun is a S&W Chief Special, a 9mm.)

I'm a 58- (nearly 59-) yr-old woman, now owner of a small manufacturing co., and while I have the CDP (which I have shot, but not often), and my husband's granddad's very old 1911 (Colt Govt) (which I haven't shot, although Michael used it sometimes at the range); my guns are the S&W 9mm and an older S&W .357 revolver (bought in the '70's -- they sure saw me coming {eye roll} -- but it's a great gun, nevertheless!) I was in the Navy for 6-7 years back in the 70's; left as a LT. ("Join the Navy see the world"?! I went from Long Island to Philly for 6 yrs!)

Anyway, I'll post my questions over in the Micro threads... Thanks for all the great learning I've gained over the past two days!!

Cool Hey Ya'll!!!

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Georgian in beautiful downtown Monroe, Georgia!!!

Sounds like you have some interesting firearms there!! Send us some pictures and a range report or two when you get the chance!! I know what you mean about craving the Sapphire!! That is one classy looking pistol. I just wish they made it in .45 ACP! The Micro is nice, but I have a Smith and Wesson M&P40 Shield that I use as my summer ECD pistol. I have added a set of Trijicon Night Sights and an Apex trigger. With these modifications, this little pistol IS a shooter!! I tote it in a Blackhawk Model 28 Askins Compact Concealment holster, which carries it high and close to the body at the 3:30 position.

BTW, thanks for your service to the country. GO NAVY!! usa2.gifusa2.gifusa2.gif

Welcome to the forum from a fellow female shooter in Colorado. I had to work my way up to shooting .45's. Lots of range time & using a 'Grip Master' hand exerciser has helped.

SnowTao, just do it!!! It's only money. I felt the same way but let me tell you. It is a great looking and a very fine shooting pistol! If you shop around you may find one for under MSRP, I did. Let me just come clean. If Kimber offered it in .45acp I would buy another one and still may buy the 9mm Pro Model from "The Summer Collection". Enjoy the pic. I know I am a bad man.
