Hello from SoCali

Hello all! I have been shooting for about 7years and reloading about 4.
Decided to finally purchase my first 1911 and after much research chose a Kimber. I went with the TLE/RL II. I still haven't brought it home yet as being in California we have a 10 day waiting period. I am looking forward to the Kimber experience.

I am from Southern Calif myself don't care for the 10-day waiting. But it's doable you will like your Kimber just follow the instructions on break in be sure and clean it thoroughly and get the grease out of it and lube it properly before you take it to the range for the first time I have four Kimber and they are all very enjoyable to shoot. I believe I am much more accurate shooting the 1911 than any other handgun that I have it's like point and shoot

Nice to meet you SWCA. I have read quite a bit about the need to follow the break in instructions Thanks for the heads up. I actually work for an electrical distributor. I am in fact working on a transfer. Hope to move to the Boise area by years end. It is a huge step, born and raised all my life in SoCal, but it is just time to leave.

Hey, Ant.
I'm from Behind The Orange Curtain, but I venture daily into your zone. Basically, Downtown to Beverly Hills. When I took over this area, I hoped to find some indoor ranges that I could visit during the day. Nothin... Have fun with your new Kimber.

Rusty, L.A. gun club is the closest to downtown. Right over the bridge on 4th and Mateo. Friday's is the only day during the week they open @ 11:00am. Just need to make sure you don't go during their qualification day. I think they have one a month for security companies and etc. It's nothing fancy by any means, but it's a place to shoot.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois AntMan71 and congratulations on the new TLE/RL II. You can download a copy of the owners manual if you'd like to study it before your gun is released.

Thanks for all the warm welcome folks. @ Chuck43 thanks for the link. I did grab the manual to bring home and go through before leaving it for the waiting period. I did clearly find the notes on the break in period and requirements. I will definitely give you all the updates from bring home to range so all can see how my Kimber responds. I will say, I am looking forward to it and expecting nothing but grand results.
