Greetings from Madison, Wisconsin.

I just registered here since today I picked up my first Kimber, an Ultra Carry II with laser sight.

I have been a 1911 owner for 35 years, and except for one Detonics, all of these pistols were Colts customized by Terry Tussey. After hearing good things about the Kimber brand on the 1911 Forum and wanting a larger caliber for our CCW provision, I made my purchase.

I'm a professional knife sharpener, a retired credit manager, and a Harley owner for over 40 years. I'm an inactive member of a local MC.

I'm going to need lots of help with the Kimber. Yikes, it took me a lot of time disassembling it for initial cleaning...LOL

Welcome to the forum.

It took a while for me to get used to my Ultra, but it's easy now. Especially since I purchased a NDZ Performance tool.

Welcome to the site from Colorado. Congrats on your 1st Kimber. I agree with Insta-Gator - take down of the ultras is easier with the NDZ tool.

Welcome to the site from Tennessee! Congrats on the Ultra Carry. I still carry my Detonics on a regular basis, do you still own yours?
I also use the NDZ tool on my Ultra's.

Thanks for the welcome guys! Yeah, it appears I'm going to need the NDZ tool.

I did purchase copious amounts of white box hardball and a spare magazine. I'm a big fan of Wilson Rogers magazines, and I'll need a few more of those, too.

Where do you recommend I buy this tool?

BTW, I'm afraid the Detonics is gone. I was young and foolish and had a Dillon Square Deal--and shot the thing to pieces...

Too bad about the Detonics. I think I found the NDZ tool on Amazon.com. I bought the combo pack that had two different sizes of the tool. Seems like it was around twenty dollars.
