I am a Woodchuck in the city. Grew up in VT where squirrel guns and deer rifles were a part of growing up. I bought my first handgun about 10 years ago after moving to Chicagoland and realizing city folk have a different outlook on 2A. A few handguns later I told my wife I finally understand her shoe collection......each is different and they all make me feel good when I wear them..
Anyway, being a Woodchuck in the city I bought my Micro 9 stainless with.rosewood grips and skimmed through the manual missing the part about breaking it in. I put about 50 rounds of 115g fmj through it and it performed flawlessly. I was pleased with my purchase and then I found this forum. So I'm going to clean and lube it properly and then get some heavier American made ammo to break it in properly.
Surely, I'm not the first dum a*^ to not follow proper .procedure. Does anyone want to fess up about being less than diligent about the break-in and let me know if I damaged my baby beyond repair. (I doubt that it's that bad......)
Living in Plano IL is a bit like purgatory....the sate is definitely not 2A friendly but they get it out here in corn country. I look forward to discussions with like minded enthusiasts.
PS after seeing some of the awesome pics of members' Kimbers, I kinda feel like mine is a bit plain jane,,,,,,but damn she's hot to me!
