Greetings from Alabama's Gulf Coast

Only connection to Kimber is my wife's Micro cdp lg .380 and her Stainless Gold Match II. I'm looking to buy an Ultra Carry 45, comparing it to an HK45. The Ultra Carry is a beautiful gun with a great trigger and balance. From the 1st shot, I was able to fire to the best of my ability (which is all anyone can ask for). I currently have 3 9mm pistols: a Sig Sauer P226 Elite SAO which I love, a new H&K VP9 I've been shooting for about 3 weeks and lovin' it, and a little Ruger LC9s that fits in my pocket and was cheap. Look forward to reading and posting and learning from you guys and gals.

Another welcome to the forum from Northern Illinois. I cant speak to the HK45, but, as you already have learned, the Ultra platform is a great little shooter.

I think comparing an HK45 to a Pro would be a better comparison. I had the opportunity to shoot a SS Raptor Pro 45 to a HK45 side by side. Both guns shot great but the Raptor was working better for me. H&K makes a fine gun but I think it's a little pricey for a polymer gun. I have a S&W M&P45 with an Apex trigger and it was a lot cheaper than an H&K and shoots just as good and the new trigger is much nicer. I think an Ultra is an excellent carry gun but it's tough to compare a gun with a 3" barrel to one with a 4.5'' barrel. All these guns are excellent choice you just have to figure out which is best for you.
