I have a Solo and found this place looking for answers on the kimpro finish. man it is horrible any idea if they do warranty work on it or how much new coating cost? Also looking at ideas for grip panels.

I cannot tell you about the coating but I put new grip panels on mine that I like.I bought these on e-bay from cool hand only around 30-35 dollars. They are G10 and feel good.

Wink Hey Ya'll!!!

Welcome to the forum from beautiful downtown Monroe,
Georgia!!!
Monroe-Welcome To Monroe.jpg

Sorry to hear about the issue you are having with the finish on your Solo. Like Chuck said, call Kimber Customer Service. They will take care of you. We have had very few members ever unhappy with Kimber's solution to problems. Most are more than satisfied and feel that Kimber went above and beyond with what they do.

As for grip panels, that is a very personal thing. Everybody has their own idea of what makes their pistol look really good. At this time, I am real fond of grips made of G-10 material. The ones on Tom's Solo look good. I have a nice set of Hogue G-10 Blue Lava grips on my Pro Carry II. Hogue and VZ have a nice collection of them. Check them out.

When your Solo comes back from Kimber, be sure to post pictures of it. We like pictures. We won't complain if you toss in a detailed range report also. We'd love to know how your Solo performs. Hopefully, you have one of the good ones!!

Glad to have you with us. Lookin' forward to hearing more from you in the future. Shoot straight and be safe!!
