New here. Can anyone tell me how to get on the roof? I'm told there's a swimming pool up there...

Appreciate the welcome. Signed up with hopes of learning about my pistol. Been around the block with Smith and Wesson revolvers and Glocks and thought it was time I got myself a 1911. Wanted one for as long as I can remember so I shelled out the cash for the UCii. The appeal was the size and light-ish weight for EDC. Great performance so far, fired the first 500 without issue and have sincerely fallen in love with it with every round sent down range. Noticed recently that the factory mag sits lower in the well than it used to so I ordered some Kim-Pro's the other day, hoping I won't regret that. Anyone have any tips? Things to watch out for or things to keep in mind? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Congrats on owning a very fine 1911. You will not ever regret the purchase.

I'd suggest the Wilson Combat mags, as they offer a variety of mag floor plates and are also known for extreme reliability. I use them in both my EDC UCII's, .45 and 9mm. You can also gain one extra round in either .45 or nine with the Wilson mags.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois and congratulations on the new Kimber. I have 25 or so Kim Pro Tac-mags and have never had a problem with any of them. You might also want to try Joes1911magmania, I and a lot of our members get their magazines from him.

Clean, lube, shoot! Repeat.... I have had zero issues with any of my Ultras. For mags, I use WC mostly, I just like them! I will use my Joes mags for a long range day, very inexpensive and work great. If you carry daily, there are a lot of holster options out there, KG Holsters is a member here and does beautiful work. The best holster is the one you like and feels good.

Holy hell the welcome mat got rolled right the eff out! You guys are great lol!

I don't know how to quote people, little new to forums in general so I have to apologise.

For all of you who suggested the Wilson mags, I did consider them but when I saw the Kim-Pro's also came with varied floor plates I went with them for the price and to keep the Kimber name (made sense in my head lol) but I may order some Wilson's later on and do a comparison.

To whoever mentioned the holster I will absolutely look into that here in the next few days as it's a necessity and buying it from one of the members here can only mean it's quality so I appreciate the heads up there.

I'll do my best to start remembering names so I can at least thank you guys personally as I post back and forth and I really appreciate the welcoming from all of you.

It's very apparent that this is a forum full of badasses that will point me in the right direction and I hope I can do the same as I learn more about my firearm.

Wasn't sure if we did this here but here's a pic (if it actually worked). I have new grips on the way, I'll be sure to post a pic when they come in.
