Greetings from Virginia

First, let me say I don't yet have a Kimber, signing up so I could ask a few questions of those who actually do, having exhausted the usual Google links, half of which are really opionated. I've been randomly collecting for about thirty-odd years, everything from black powder to airguns to "modern" guns. The first gun I ever shot was a 1911 back when I was in the Navy, and that only briefly during my annual "one full clip for mandatory training". (Being on a submarine where ricochetes are likely, it wasn't that critical.) Most of my collecting has been long guns since I am in no way a proficient pistolero. That said, I started getting into handguns a few years ago and now have a variety of both revolvers and pistols but still no 1911. It's funny because that is the one gun I always thought I would buy. Go figure. Anyway, I came across a Kimber 1911 which I'm considering, so here I am. This seems like a pretty nice forum with very helpful folks so, even if I don't end up with a Kimber, I'm glad to have dropped in.

BTW, my usual forum handle is RedFeather. Guess I fat fingered it during the registration.
swca and Markie like this.

Welcome from Northeast, Pa.

Always check prices on places like GunBroker or other online seller because 1911 prices can vary quite a bit.
