First time Kimber Purchase - Micro 9

New member introduction :

My friends call me "Geno B-". Senior, life long gun owner. Grew up around guns, father was a collector. Have a little of everything but decided to buy a Micro 9 for several reasons. Wife and I have our concealed carry permits so decided to break from my Glock 42 & 43's and try a Kimber. Really like the way the two tone Micro 9 w/ laser grips looks and feels but unfortunately it has a "Failure to Eject" about every 100 rounds or so. I have only put about 500 rounds through it so far. I watched the video about tuning the extractor on a 1911 and found my Micro will not hold a empty cartridge without falling out so it seems it is not correct. I plan on trying to bend the extractor as shown in the video but haven't yet. I live between Arizona and California about 6 months out of the year so can't use the gun when in California. Bunch of BS as far as I am concerned. So bottom line is I don't carry the Kimber, don't trust it like my Glocks which have never failed me. Picture shows my Micro 9 w/ my fancy holster I got for my birthday . lol

Anyway just wanted to say hi to everyone in the forum and share a little background...

Welcome to KT Geno-B !
Definitely sounds like the extractor needs adjusting. Itís really easy once you get the hang of it. One thing I learned is the extractor adjustment tool (Weigand) doesnít work with the smaller extractors like the Micro 9. I can usually adjust mine in less than 5 min now, after some practice. You could also send back to mothership (Yonkersville) and get them to adjust it if you are not comfortable doing it.

Good luck !!

Nice Kimber and Holster! To bad about the lack of trust . Tweak the ejector and it sounds like it would be good to go. As far as California goes you are preaching to choir here about the only thing I like about California is the weather and my friends! Going to sell my house as soon as I can make an offer on one in Southern Utah hope to go up in May and look at several houses up there agent has been sending me listings.

Welcome from NC. There are many very knowledgeable people here (not me) who can help with Kimber issues.
